It all sounds bad. I guess I better stop. I will stop. Alka-sleltzer just makes my UTI feel so much better. I did not realize that NSAID is aspirin. I have been taking Aleve like crazy for a while now. Maybe that is why I have been having a UTI. You think?

Not only do you not want to take aspirin with Diamox, you also do not want to take it with naproxen sodium (Aleve) either in the same 24hr period.

I have to take Aspirin everyday for life since getting my stents and I was on Diamox for almost a year too. I noticed it on the drug checker and said to my doctor but they said I had to take both!

It is only a baby Aspirin 75mg so that may be alot less than you! Hopefully you'll benifit more stoping them than taking clashing meds, good luck!

What over the counter pain reliever do you guys use then? I've been taking Tylenol or Motrin. I have Excedrin migraine too that I rarely ever use and if I do I only take one because it has aspirin in it but sometimes that is the only thing that helps to get rid of my headache. My headaches whenever I do get them aren't that horrible that I feel I need a narcotic for but most OTC pain relievers have NSAID's

I checked the drug.com we can take Tylenol, Motrin and Aleve. I swear these drug people do not know what a NSAID is. I don't know what NSAID is. On my Alka-seltzer it says anhydrous citric acid/antacid aspirin(nsaid)/ on my Aleve it says naproxen sodium(nsaid). So what the *&^%#$@#@#$% is ANSAID? Don't feel good today and this is getting me!!!!!!!!

If I had to have one, I use only what I have prescribed which is Indocin....it's by prescription only though.

Otherwise I'd choose another OTC non-salicylate if there is one, and ask a pharmacist.

NSAID stands for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and can be found in drugs containing aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen.

My doctors allowed me to take Motrin, prescription 800mg Three times a day as needed but OTC it come in 200mg so you can take up to 4 at a time as needed....I currently use a prescription med to manage the headaches and other body pains, Loratab and it works wonders.
