I have been taking 2000mg Diamox, 125mg topamax, and 40mg of Lasix and still have a worsening headache so my doctor has decided to switch me from lasix to something called bumetanide because it is supposedly more potent and may work better but I cannot find like ANY info on it from people who have taken it. When I went to fill my prescription the pharmacy had to order it in specially because they said that they had never ever stocked that drug in their store before, so it is obviously not a common drug. It kind of concerns me that it is such a rarely used drug, has anyone taken it?

On drugs.com it says that Diamox is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, and Bumetanide is a loop diuretic. Lasix is also a loop diuretic. The action inside the body is different.
You are on a huge load of drugs. A side effect of all three of them can be a headache. During all the changes in meds it's helpful to keep a headache diary before, during, after. It helps map what's going on and makes it clearer whether a medication side effect might be responsible for a symptom. Gosh I hope you feel better soon. Unrelenting bad headaches suck.
I have been on the bumetanide for a couple weeks now. Started at 0.5mg, am now at 1.5mg, and will eventually be at 2mg. It has made really no difference in the headache yet, but I have not been on it for too long so I have not written if off just yet. The bad thing though is that if you guys thought lasix makes you pee a lot OMG this stuff is insane!!!!!!!! I literally have to pee every 10 minutes for about an hour and a half after I take this. It is really annoying and uncomfortable. But yeah just thought I would update since when I was looking for info on this drug I couldn't find any, so if someone else if looking for something they will see my post.
