Do u have a shunt?

I ask because I remember back in the day some old members had bone thinning as well, one even with hole from thinnig, cant remember if they had shunts. You would think the shunt would have taken care of pressure, was this an issue your last mri?

Mmy shunt was recently adjusted because I still had headaches. Anterior surgeon says thinning is due to high pressure.

This has got to ge taken care of. Have you had testing for OSA as Sopiasmom suggests? Theres gotta be a way to assist your body to reduce pressures soon.

No I haven't done that. The thought of it makes me very uncomfortable.

That sounded extremely freaky and I can't say I've ever experienced that in particular. However, just Monday I was at the ENT office to get checked for a CSF leak through my ear and nose. Let me explain, I do not have a shunt but after most lp's (that I've noticed), and I've had two in the last two months, whenever I bend over I have fluid that runs out my nose but after about a week when my headache starts up again and other symptoms are in full swing then it stops. The dr I saw on Monday is running some sort of facial ct to see if there is anything he sees on that and then plans on scoping my nose to look for any small fluid leaks...yay me (NOT!)

I'm no dr and not even a really good researcher but I wonder about the link between lower pressure and the fluid? Again, I'm just wondering that - no proof or knowledge - just the utterings of a pain-filled lady :-/

As a side question, what is an anterior surgeon? I'm a dummy and can't figure it out.

An Anterior surgeon is one who focuses on the nose and sinsus. He is the one who did a facial CT and found that the bone is super thin. An ENT dr did a special CT to look over my ears for a leak and that was OK. It is super freaky!!!

Ok thanks for clarifying - I was sitting here going anterior means front but wasn't quite sure beyond that. I blame it on the meds lol.

Were you leaking fluid from your ears at all - you mentioned the ENT checked them. My dr checked in the office and said my ears looked fine as well - but when I lay on my left side I wake up with a wet ear. It doesn't happen on my right though. His suspicion is if the fluid coming out of my nose is spinal fluid then it also is when it comes out of my ear.

You got it, it comes out my right ear and right nostril but the CT didn't show any hole. It only comes out when I lay on my right side. If I don't lay on my right side now it seems to pool over my eyes.

Well that is certainly scary. All of it! I have awakened with swollen eyes, especially if I have other symptoms that my pressure is high. I also wake with a wet ear. And sometimes it feels as if there is water running in my ear. That horrible tickle. I have been nervous about it ever since someone once posted here that their scan showed a hole near the ear and that's where the fluid was coming from. I don't even know how such a thing would be treated and it freaks me out.

Was the seizure something new for you or have you had them before?

The seizures started in March 2 days after having an Lp with OP of 26. The Dr drew off 21 ccs then neurosurgeon adjusted my shunt. Two days later I spend 4 days in ICU with seizures.
