Hi Everyone,
I was diagnosed with IIH this past March after suffering without a diagnosis for a long time. I couldn't return to my job, as a special education teacher, from mid Feb-current. I'm heading back to school later this week, and I'm a bit nervous to say the least. I absolutely love my students and can't imagine doing anything else in my life, but my job can be pretty intense to say the least.
Any advice anyone can offer who has had to return to work would be greatly appreciated. I'm still taking Diamox, Lasix, and Amitriptyline, but I've been managing my symptoms much better than last year.

I would have to say, keep abreast on note taking. Before I stopped working I had to keep a through agenda with notes on conversations, I am afflicted with CRS when pressure is getting the best of me.
Next, I had to learn to work from my couch and bed when it comes to my kids. My son works fine from lists and lots of follow up with me. My daughter is a whole differnet story, she is a 20yo person with MRDD. Ha they joys of MR, sometimes even through all the sickness and pain I have to get up to attend to her needs, and step by step help her. At this point we are now checking into ISL homes because I don't know how much longer I can do this. Oh the guilt of it all........................remember, special education classes have assistants for reasons (I hope you have one or two?). I hope you utilize them as needed.

Wishing you the very best as you return to your teaching job. I can totally understand your anxiety about going back. Take things one step at a time and go at your own pace and try not to be too hard on yourself. You can do it! Nancy
