Pseudotumor cerebri (PTC) is a neurological disorder that is characterized by increased intracranial pressure, in the absence of a tumor or other diseases affecting the brain or its lining. Diagnosis requires brain scans and lumbar puncture. Characteristic symptoms are headache, transient visual obscurations or transient visual loss in one or both eyes usually lasting...
I'm also very sensitive to BCP, although I'm not 100% sure it caused my PTC. However, once I was on remission, I dare to try them for a couple of months and within less than 3 months my PTC was worse than the first time I was Dx. I will never try that experiment again.
I don't go for these new pills that don't have hormones because my purpose is precisely to avoid my periods. But they can work for someone that only cares for the pregnancy issue.
Sorry, I don't have the name on hand, but I'm sure someone will see this post and give you the name, because I read about them at this forum.
Good luck with that!

I'm kind of surprised that your ob/gyn considers a tubal ligation a major surgery. Mine was done as day surgery. They didn't have to do any major incisions, etc. They just went in through my belly button and did it under twilight sedation. I told my ob/gyn to make sure that there was absolutely minimal risk of pregnancy again. As a result, not only did he snip, but he also burned the tubes to make sure any risk of pregnancy is very slim, at best. Here's a suggestion: Make a deal with your ob/gyn - if you need to have a C-section during delivery, just have him/her do it at that time. That was the plan I had with my ob/gyn, but I delivered naturally with both kids, so I had to have a separate procedure later.
TBirdlady - I had the surgery once already on my left side when i had the tubal pregnancy which was in Sept. He afraid going in a second time only about a year after could cause problems. I only have one tube that needs to be done. From what i heard about the Depo shot is it causes weight gain which is something i dont want. We have discussed if its a c-section he would do it then. but my other two kids have been natural and fast dilveries so he doesnt think it would be a c-section this time either. I just want everything gone. I dont care if i get my period i had that even when i had the IUD for a year. they never stop for me. I dont know what in a pills causes my PTC to Flare up i went on one in October within one week i had headaches again so i went off it. just seems when my hormones change it gets worse.
Thank you for the advise. Just so upset over this all i thought it be an easy thing to have my ob say he would do the Surgery then he came up with all this. Seems like everyhing has to be the hard way lately. nothing can be easy.
Just a thought.
