30 is high! 25 is high.. No matter how overweight you are.. 30 is still high.
Do you know what your closing ended up being? .. Maybe they meant they brought you back down to normal? ...??

Mine ended up being low. it was Opening at 13, and closed at 6. So I guess my h/as werent IIH related this time. So bad news on that front b/c it means I have other crap going on. But good news b/c I guess all that weight loss and diet following / diamox paid off.
But im paying for it with an Lp h/a today.

At the IHRFoundation Conference last week they said anything over 20 is high, for someone who is obese anything over 25 is high. They did say anyone obese having an LP on there stomach could give a falsse high. The prefered method is on your side. I posted information about this in my Conference updates. They also said the closing pressure is not that important. I hope this helps. Paula

I go to the eye Dr on the 30th they sent in all my fluid for all the routine testing so thats enough time to get results. I am curious what else paps can be with a clean mri..

NURSE :) please dont assume that because you had a low op on diamox that its not IIH! My NS told me that my op might come back low, which it did, and he said that I still have IIH. My op was 15 on 1000mg of diamox. He said that because it came back low it meant that the diamox was helping to lower my pressures. :) your ha could be low pressure versus because of the LP.

Green - Oh no.. they werent saying I dont have IIH, they were just saying that something else is going on and the h/a's im having have been ruled out as IIH b/c of the low pressure. I understand that this is a diesease that will always be there, but sometimes the pain , or symptoms we have from one thing, may turn out to be related to something else.. =) ..
while im happy that my pressure was low .. it just is frustrating b/c now they are back to the drawing board trying to figure out why im having these head aches.

At IHRF conference they said 68% of IH patients have a second definable h-ache disorder such as episodic tension, migraine w/o aura,chronic tension or analgesic overuse. And I relate, it IS frustrating.....this whole thing is frustrating at times......Nancy

Ladyhorn - 68% is a believeable number. They told me I have chronic headaches/migraines along with the IH. Sucks trying to treat it though beacuse sometimes I wonder if it is the IH causing it or the headaches?
Have an angiogram again soon to find out hopefully!
