Hey everyone :D I hope everyone is doing well. I finally got my sleep study back today.....almost 2 weeks. I have mild sleep apnea and my insurance will not pay for me to have a sleep machine since my Sat is not below 92%. Also I can only have a sleep study every 3 years.....and I said to the nurse on the phone, "yep I could be dead in 3 years from this....."

So has anyone else gone through these crazy hoops? And get this the doctor wants to see me but her patient load is so busy I couldn't get into see her until December 1....how crazy is this?

What?! This is crazy. Sorry to hear about your sleep apnea, normally I'd say at least now you can get it treated but I'm sorry to hear that is a problem as well! I will let someone else speak as to the CPAP machine, insurance, and mild apnea, I'm not sure what the standards are for that though clearly they aren't high enough. Perhaps you could convince a doctor to appeal this on your behalf given your special circumstances - the demonstrated relationship between sleep apnea and intracranial pressure.

Who is this doctor who can't see you until December? A pulmonologist? Unless she is some wizard from another planet, I would find another one to see, perhaps you will have to travel a bit. It may be worth asking the clinic staff - if you do choose to wait until December, will it be easier to get in with her for follow up appointments once you are an established patient, or will it be like this each time?
