So much of our learning capacity comes from available Dopamine in the brain. Our medication can cause a flood of Dopamine into the motivation centers of the brain and can cause us to enter into a somewhat altered state of consciousness.
I suggest breaking down your pills in half and taking them twice as often. This will help prevent a spike in Dopamine levels in the brain and will keep some of that spacey feeling out.
This medication has a 5 day half life...meaning, you take it today and in 5 days...you still have half of it on board working for you.
Also, I recommend an 18milligram dose of Strattera every two or three days as needed. This will really help you with focus issues. Couple this with breaking your pills in half and your mind will sharpen up and your motivation will return very nicely.
I'll look into the Strattera, that sounds promising... Would my Endro prescribe that? or my regular MD? Is it calming too?
Thanks Much!
Strattera was originally designed by Eli Lilly as an antidepressant but in clinical trials it was found to be very, very effective in the treatment of ADD and ADHD.
It works as a Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor. Norepinephrine is responsible for pain reception in the brain...and fatigue is just another form of pain, if you think about it.
Hope this works for you.
