I’m new here too, but not new at having a prolactinoma.
I’m 32 and was diagnosed at 28.
I was on Cabergoline (Dostinex) for a couple months before I got my first period and then I got pregnant and got off it.
I didn’t have a period since about age 23.
When I first found out, my levels were around 900 and I was diagnosed with a macroadenoma.
I wasn’t on the medicine long so I don’t have any advice on how you’ll feel on it long term. I will be going back to see my endo in a couple weeks to get back on.
I’m having more symptoms of bad headaches, tired, weight gain, and dizziness.
Usually the dosage you start with is low and and maybe your dr will bump it up eventually. After a while you’ll start feeling better. Try not to focus on it and remember it’s not life threatening. It is scary when you first find out but it’s actually pretty common. Here to chat if you’d like. :-)
Yes, it’s always nice being able to chat with people going through similar situations. Ya try to keep your normal schedule if you can. I honestly can’t remember too much about being on cabogoline except some minor nausea and I got my sex drive back.....hence the baby so soon lol. I can’t wait to ge back on start feeling better.
I’m on Facebook too if you want to look me up.
