Hi everyone. I am currently struggling with the standard treatment for a 3mm prolactinoma. I have experienced some very severe side effects including but not limited to 

Debilitating Insomnia.

Hyper sexuality.

Innability to control my spending.

Uncontrollable flashes of anger and extreme irritability. 

I was on a very low dose of Cabergoline, 5mg twice a week. The medicine did lower my levels by just better than half after about 3 months but at that point I had to stop. The side effects were damaging my life, my relationships and my work.

The hardest part was my Endocrinologist at that time did not believe me when I told him about what I was experiencing, and he did hurt me. I ended up in the hospital with what the ER Dr. Called a medication induced Psychosis.

   It took me over a year to recover from the experience. Being told by the Endo who that was supposed to be helping me I was not normal,  I couldn't be experiencing what I was. And that I must have an undiagnosed case of Menatl illness..

.  The fear of going thru it again, the fear of driving those I love farther away were very hard to recover from and all that time I suffered from the effects of my condition. Paralyzed by fear and suffering was a very sad and lonely place to be. I should of sued the Dr but I decided it was unhealthy for me and think about it just made me worse. So for my well-being I moved on.

   Today about a year later I am better but not recovered compleatly. I joined this group to try and talk about it. 

   I have recently tried to treat the symptoms with a new Endocrinologist that I have started to develop a trusting relationship with. Let me tell you that took some time and I was so distrustful and angry I am sure he thought I was big jerk. Thankfully he has accepted me for what I am, we are working together in a positive manner.

   Sadly it has not been any easier this go round. We attempted TRT to treat the affects of the High Prolactin.  And it did help a lot. It made me feel good, my ittitability was way improved and it fixed all my Labido issues after about 4 weeks. Until it turns out my E2 (Estrogen) was elevated and at 5 weeks my irritability returned with a vengeance. But this time my Dr.s listened to me and we are doing more testing to try and mitigate the irritability.

   I have a long road to go and may never be able to be cured of this tumor that seems to be such a small thing but I am working on it and have some hope again that things can get better.
