For those that are reading this for the first time I'll brief you just a little and then update.
My DNL lives with me and is a prescription drug addict. After several times of overdozing and nearly dieing we have her Baker Acted. From there she went to a duo diagnis hostial. She was released this past Sunday after spending a month there. We were a little encouraged since she did seem to be doing so well.
Yesterday, less than 24 hrs. home from the hospital I found her passed out in my garage and naked from the waist down with her privates exposed to the street. She had taken a couple of strong anti-depressents that she brought home from the hospital. Apparently the hospital staff did not watch her take them so she hid them utill she came home. She is an expert at manipulation so there's no telling exactly what happened. I was able to revise her by shaking her. All the rest of the day and last night she cried and cried and begged and begged us not to throw her out. We had told her that she could come home from the hospital but if any episode happened again she would have to move out. She feels we are kicking her out because she overdozed and she claims she did not. She just does not understand that we are upset because she lied to us when she first got home and told us she did not have any meds but had prescriptions that she had to get filled on Monday. (yesterday when this happend) We have told her that her conduct yesterday was not acceptable. We do not live like that and live in an upscale neighborhood where people are proud and moral. We will not put up with this type of behaviour. I know she was not on the narcotics as she has been for many years but never the less she had meds that were not supposed to be brought home. And she actually took a double dose (2 pills). We now have her prescriptions filled and she does have the same med. that she took but ONE pill.
My husband came home about10-15 minutes after I found her and he went about as nuts as I was.
I have one reservatiion about putting her out of our house. She's married to my son. He is very upset also and bounces from ending the marriage to wanting to give her another chance. It's so difficult for me and my husband. Our son loves her and putting her out will either end the marriage or he will go with her. Right now none of us can afford for them to live elsewhere. We have had a very good financial arrangement that helps all of us. We must might have to find a way to survice though and cut expenses even further than we already have. It would mean that we would have to start selling some of our assets. It can be done though
Today my son has been home from work and with her all day. We a working together to be sure she is taking her proper meds and keeping a close eye on her. She has done wonderful today and is actually making dinner for all of us as I type. She's such a delight to be around and so helpful around the house. I just hate that she has such a horrible addiction problem. She also very very pretty too.
The last thing I want is my son's mariage to fall apart. I want so badly for her to become healthy. One month in the hospital just is not enough. She's been troubled from a small child and an addict for 20+ years now.
I'm sorry I'm rambling. My thoughts are racing. I'm faced with decisions that are too darn hard for me to make and then have to live with them.
Oh my husband did call the hospital and was told they feel they can't do any more to help her but recommended a residential duo diagnosis shelter. He has called them. I should know more when my husband gets in from work.
I guess I'm writing hoping for the magic solution to my problem. Hoping that someone out there can wave a wand and make all this horrible stuff go away. Does that make sense? I don't think so but I can't solve the pain we are all in myself no matter what I do.

I hope all of you can figure out what I wrote. I guess I better do a little proofing before I hit the send/add button.
My son is doing awesome now. He spent a couple weeks in the hospital with a few days break between the stays. His stomach problems seem to have settled. that's one huge issue we have not had to deal with for awhile.
