Hi, I decided last week that I was no longer going to get Stadol shots. Some would say so? The reason it is a thing to me was I was going to the ER at least once a week for a shot of Stadol/Benadryl and Zofran. I have had migraines for 13yrs. I have a strong genetic background for them. The thing is I dont always get the shots for headaches. They are my escape, one shot and I am asleep and not coping. Pathetic I know..I just recently had Botox for my migraines, but I still have gone to the ER 3 times since. Today is 5 days since my last shot. Today I have had a hard time concentrating on things because I was trying to re-direct my thougths from a shot. I do legitamately get migraines, do I have one everytime I need a shot? No. In 2005 I was rapid detoxed from Demerol/Phenergan.. I dont feel I did this alone because all are Dr. administered. Yes, I feel crappy. No, I have no one to get these thoughts out to...Whoever reads this thank you! thank you for listening!
Stadol is only a partial opiod agonist, in plain terms, this means it is only fractionally as addictive as demerol or any other opiods. And since you were only taking one shot a week, you should be in the clear shortly. It will be mental hell, and your mind will play all sorts of little 'tricks' on you to get you back in that ER (like phantom pains and such). A shot of stadol for me would send me into precipitated withdrawal, as it would for anyone else with an addiction to full-on opiates. One girl's drug is another guy's poison, lol.

By the way, you are the only person I have ever heard of that got addicted to this stuff. Usually people start with these drugs but then progress to the hard stuff. Count yourself fortunate.
Do you think the "other things" are causing more problems than the stadol? For me, opiates are my drug of choice, but I used to drink in the evenings to potentiate the effects of the opiates.
I managed to quit drinking (the mental craving for a drink can still really pull at me!), but not the opiates, unfortunately. Perhaps it is the same for you?
