Hello! I'm addicted to Ritalin. I crush & snort it. However I realized, that it isn't the Ritalin. It's the snorting! I crush & snort a lot of my pills. I need to stop so I can take all my meds the right way! It's tastin it goin down the back of my throat. It sucks. I even snort chewable vitamins. It's so hard to even think about stoppin. I don't even know where to start! Any suggestions?

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

All addiction is a symptom of deeper emotional issues. Some people get sober with the 12 steps, and some get sober by going through outpatient treatment.
What most people do is talk to their doctor in confidence......Try to be honest so that he/she understands the scope of your problem. Then your doctor will discuss treatment options. In the end it's your decision how to deal with your problem.
I see you have the word mom in your user name so I assume you have kids.. If you can't get sober for yourself, please do it for your kids. As someone who watched a parent commit a slow suicide with her addiction, it's excruciating to be a witness to that and it affected me in a negative way for 30 years until I went through treatment for drugs and alcohol.
Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing . The path you take on your road to recovery, may help someone else. You could potentially save other lives by dealing with your addiction with courage and resolve.
It's not easy but it can be done and you can live a happy, fulfilling, sober life from here on out.
In the meantime, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
