Also - thanks to all of you for your input. I didn't end up do anything about it. I know he's using. He knows I know. So what does it matter? I don't yell at him. I know that that is counterproductive and hurts our relationship.
But I haven't written a heart to heart letter to him in awhile so I may do that. I will also talk to him that I'm still worried and that we love him.
Having said all this ~ maybe it's because of the way we respond to him now ~ but he seems so much "better". He's, at least, engaged in school ~ something that we haven't seen all through his using high school years.
It's just difficult for him ~ being that all his high school using friends are within a short walk from our house. It's frustrating but we continue to pray that one day he will want to stop. No incentive now. As far as "kicking him out" - if he wasn't going to school and if he were out of control ~ I would try and convince my husband to consider it.
I understand. Unfortunately or fortunately ~ I'm not even sure anymore of what is the thing to do ~ but my husband (his dad) isn't interested in doing the tough love thing. It may get to the point (when things get worse) that he will respond. I have no control over my son or husband. So I'm learning to Let Go & Let God...... and Take One Day at A Time.
The best way is to ask your Pharmacist
