what am i supposed to do with the bordem?

I would find a hobbie I could sink my passion into' I would learn a new song on guitar, I would run a couple of miles, I would do one of many things that manifest personal satisfaction. I would do some gardening or some other project around my house.

If I didn't try to stay busy, I would be tempted to use again.

Pick up a pen and a paper and put down all the good things you have and all the things you are grateful for and still have. Go for a walk in your local mall if you live in a cold area. If you live in a warm area go outside and look at the beautiful world and be thankful...look at the trees and sky !

I know this may go a little deeper.....but I constantly talk myself out of things I like doing. I have a gym membership I rarely use!!!! school and work take up most of my time.

wow, I just realized I have no hobbies. the gym, in my opinion, doesn't count as a hobby.

I think you can definitely count the gym as a hobby. It's a c raft that you enjoy getting better at so yes! Absolutely!

Hi. This is a question I oftrn ask myself. I habe been clean for 2 years and still struggle. Sometimes I think to myself if I am bored ok would I be doing anything different if I were high or just not notice I were bored. Then I realize I would be doing exactly the same thing
So I try to be as productive as possible. Working out reading writing even a household project (even a small one) helps fight the boredom urge to go use. God bless you.

How about volunteering at a drug rehab facility. You can help people get over something that you had similar issues with at the same time reminding yourself what a huge mistake using would be.

I hear you. I know the healthy thing to do would be to stay busy with a hobby of some sort, I just lack the motivation to do anything. Everything is just meh. Unfortunately my fav hobby is pillz and drugs. Nothing else seems to break thru. Like I’m a prisoner in my own brain, a shell of my former self.

I finally realized the reason I am bored is because I have given up all hobbies and interests and replaced them with self medicating behavior. Took me a lot of years and bad habits to get to this point. I guess getting better takes as much work as getting sick and unfortunately I'm not doing well at this. Good luck with things. Take care.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
