I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I suffered from PTSD over the death of my dad who slipped on my back steps and broke his neck. I blamed myself for it. So I self medicated with vicodin to numb the emotional pain.
I worked my way up to 150 miligrams per day and nearly died from kidney failure. I had no idea I had a problem because I was in no pain but when I started passing nothing but blood, I feared I might have a problem.
For some reason, God decided to spare my life thanks to a heroic doctor who was empathetic toward my problems with addiction. She sent an addiction counselor to talk to me while I was recovering.in the hospital. I really wanted to die because I felt I had nothing to live for at one point.
I was evaluated at our local substance abuse center at the local hospital, to see which mode of treatment would be best for me. First I went through detox for 4 days, then a 3 week IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) in which I was treated for the PTSD, followed by 3 months of relapse prevention group counseling.and throughout all the treatment, AA meetings were a requirement.
I still attend 12 step meetings today and I have a sponser who has become my best friend. There is no cure for addiction only control and through the support I get at AA meetings, I can live a happy drug free life.
God Bless and TC!
Try and call your local ER and find out if there is any program you can get into...They see this problem a lot now a days...It is so hard to do this without some kind of support...The withdrawal symptoms are relentless and last forever...I am here if you want to talk..but please don't cut yourself anymore...When I caught my son doing it ...it just broke my heart...I know you are in pain and for some crazy reason cutting yourself seems to lesson that inner pain...go figure !! You are definitely not alone...This addiction has become an over night epidemic...My prayers and thoughts are with you right now...Give your hospital ER a call...they might be able to help you more then you know...!!
God bless and big hugs wrapped around you right now,
Namaste,
