"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." - Abraham Lincoln

Just curious where everyone gets their news from... do you only opt for one news source or several? Do you believe what you read news-wise from social media type sites or do you only stick to reputable news outlets? Do you still prefer print media or are you a strict 24/7 cable news channel junkie?
I'm just wondering since most every news outlet is going to cover the same or similar stories (assuming it is not an outlet that is specifically bias in its coverage of a subject or party or what have you) but they certainly won't all cover the same stories in the same ways so if you read/hear/view more than one source for news, is there one you trust more than others and, if so, why? Like if they are all covering the same story but giving some different facts, is there one source you feel more confident is telling the full, unbiased truth compared to any other source you check out?

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

For westerners, this is the other side of the world, where everything is exotic and unfamiliar. Piracy is still a problem on the Java Sea, and English is not widely spoken. The Java Sea is about 1,600 km long, 400 km wide, and loiters loosely between the islands of Borneo to the north, Java to the south, Sumatra to the west, and Sulawesi to the east. The equator is a few degrees north, so...
I like to know what the far left is thinking, the far right is thinking as well as what I consider more 'neutral sources' are reporting.
I'll also tune in when my local public health officials are giving a press briefing so I'm up to date on what's going on in my state.
Too keep informed on covid in my state I only look on our state website to see the number of cases for that day. Sometimes I listen to our governors press conference once the video is posted. That way I can ff through parts I dont want to hear.
Top of my national news list: New York Times, Washington Post, The Guardian, BBC, APNews, USAToday, sometimes Al Jazeera, Wall Street Journal, local network-affiliate sources depending on the top stories.
Local: NY Daily News, Miami Herald, Denver Post, Houston Chronicle, SF Chronicle, LA Times,
Politics: NPR, Politico, The Hill, Vox, Axios, sometimes Congressional Record
OpEd: Salon, Rolling Stone, The Nation, on occasion the Christian Science Monitor and National Review
Alternative OpEd: CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Mother Jones, AlterNet, sometimes The Palmer Report,
Humor: Breitbart, NY Post, NY Mag/Andy Berkowitz
I like Axios because the coverage is nuanced, but it demands, encourages and rewards careful reading. Most of the first 3 groups aren't too bad, for political stuff, as long as you read past the headline of the story. The last two groups are pretty extreme, with lots of talking heads on video ad-libbing the news . For that, I prefer Colbert and Berkowitz, who I know are being entirely satirical. Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh might be tolerable, if only they wiould admit to being fakes (and get some better material).
