I know what you mean, girl. I'm considerably young to be pregnant (21) but I had my fun outings and involving hobbies I can't do as much anymore. It sucks that I can't drink with my friends for their birthdays, and when we go shopping or on nice walks outside I have to sit down to rest SO often. I can't be active and free like I used to... Most of the time now, I just go on short walks and laze on the bed feeling tired. My friends are in their late 20s-early 30s, so they just wanna party and do all this wild stuff.

Some of them accommodate, though. Like they'll sit with me and drink decaf with me or some homemade juice while we talk and surf the internet. You could also see about events where you could meet other pregnant women to be friends with. Maybe your hospital, local clinics or WIC office has classes you can attend. The educating may not be necessary but it would be a good experience for meeting other ladies like you. :)

Pregnancy is definitely an identity change, and through this process I've moved into a set of new friends. I still see old friends and when we have a free night (babysitter!) we make the most of it. I felt like I got into a groove of this is my mommyhood, and I'm loving it while my children are small. Once they are grown, I do not plan to stop living.

I feel like I keep hitting that life crisis, though. To get through it, I flip on some Little Britain, laugh it up, and then try to move on to my next task. The adjustment is a natural part of human life, but boy, it's not always easy. Good luck! All will be well, and in no time you'll be out for drinks again... you'll just be checking your phone a bit more often :)

It's not even about not going out anymore with me. It's that for the first time in my life I feel like being a woman is a disadvtage. I worked as a temp for the company I work for in their corporate offices for 4 months along with 2 other temps who came from temp agencies. Because I was pregnant they didn't offer me a job after the temp job was over but they did offer the other two girls jobs. I feel so frusterated and hurt by the fact that my being a woman could actually hinder my career progression that it really makes me resent being pregnant even though I love my son already.

Just like Mipkat, I too seemed to evolve into a new set of friends. My single, care free friends are still part of my life, but my new friends are more mommy centered and have the same interests (and going out restrictions) as I do. Its just a natural part of having children...

I think it is a littel ahrd to make new freinds at this point, but as soon as baby arrives all youw ill need ot do is join a few "mommy & baby groups". Go to the Mom's and Tots swim time at the locate pool and stuff and I know that you will be meeting so many women in the same stage of life as you. and soome enough you will be having playdates with other mom's and babes. For now just enjoy ening pregnant and remind yourself that you party freinds will not be bfar being you and soon enought they will be call you asking for advice and wanting to hang out at home once they get prego! You are just in a transition stage... it will pass.

Thanks ladies. I am dealing a bit better with it. Luckily all my friends have teenagers now so i will have a built in babysitter when i can go out for an evening! lol.
