I loved our bassinet. It is so nice to be able to have baby in the room I'm in during the day. the bassinet is small enough to move room to room if need be (LOL while empty). I find it very reassuring to have baby with me.

About carseats I like the ones with REALLY high safety rating, RAVE reviews by parents and are soft! So many carseats have rough, scrachty material or have no padding. It can be very hard to find a good one. We've always had good luck with Graco. I love thier memory foam, and high ratings. They can be spendy but we always felt safety worth the extra price.

onesies and those nightgown sacks. I didnt use sacks with my son (they looked to girly) but omg did they ever make life easy for changing at nite!!! hmm what else did love.... Swing... its the only place my daughter would sleep for long periods until 5 months old because of milk protien/reflux issues. I went though 2 of them we wore the first one out lol.

My BIL worked for Babies R Us for many years. He says Graco carseats are the best. He said many of the other carseats were returned for breaking and other various reasons. He said not once was anything Graco returned. He said we had better buy his niece/nephew a Graco carseat or else lol:).

Well to start with - we had a Graco carseat from Babies-R-Us. I've noticed that the cheaper Gracos at like Walmart, are a cheaper quality too. We paid a lot for ours at BRU but I loved it. We are now in a bigger carseat, I have a big boy! But - I will definitely be using that carseat again for my next baby! It is so durable and soft!

Secondly, here are a few things that I thought i didn't need...and now I couldn't have lived without! #1 - nightgown sacks. They are so ridiculous looking and I swore I'd never put my baby boy in one. But I did and they were amazing! He slept so much better with the swaddlers sacks and it made it easy to change him without waking him. #2 - we have a mini crib (it looks just like a crib but it is really small, not a bassinet - not sure what its really called) that I keep beside my bed. It is small enough to be moved around but is still big enough for my 22+ pound 9 month old baby! When he was first born, we moved it to the living room and stuff to keep him in. #3 - a mirror in the car so you can see him. I got one at Walmart that fits on the back of the seat and you can look in your rearview and see his image in the mirror. THis saves A LOT of worrying if he is making a noise in the car and you can't stop. You can glance back and make sure he is ok. #4 and #5 are things I could live without and did for a short time - but I think they are nice to have... A wipe warmer for those chilly nights or when the ac is on - especially if you ahve a boy - those cold wipes are brutal! And a diaper genie. As your little one gets bigger (and smellier), it holds all the odors in and can be emptied in a hurry. I wouldn't live without one now.

Good luck! Oh and a small piece of advice - if you are bottle feeding - dont' use Playtex drop-ins. With a new born, the bags are very hard to squeeze out the excess air when you don't have a full bottle. I have used them this time and will never use them again. Plus, not only do you spend $8 on 2 bottles, you have to continuously buy the liners at $8 a pop!
