Haha!! Sounds like the baby dropped!! If this is your first it seems a little earlier than usual but hey, every pregnancy is different! I'm on my 3rd pregnancy now and with each one the baby drops a little sooner than the first! That's what it feels like, like the head is sitting between your hipbones pushing down... Pretty uncomfortable but it's all part of the process!

Really? I didn't realise it could happen this early. Mind you I suppose everyone is different aren't they.

When I stand up and walk it does feel like there is more weight on my cervix/canal

could she have turned head down and now you are getting used to that? i hope that she didnt drop this soon.

My daughter was engaged from 20 weeks, so it is quite possible hun!! Wait until you feel as though you have a grapefruit between your legs ;) then labour won't be too far away... Also, some babies drop that ealry but then come out again and drop back down later - so the midwives told me. Caitlin stayed :) She popped out two days before labour (great timing!) but engaged again the day before. And don't worry, she was born just three weeks early! So it DOES NOT mean you will be in labour soon :)

It is quite possible she could have just turned head down...all kicks I'm feeling are much lower down than before and also can sort of feel them in my back passage (TMI I know...sorry)

Well the good news is that when they drop they do take SOME of the early discomforts away... My back problems stopped as soon as my kids dropped. They become more aligned with your "center".

I didn't really have any problems with my back before but I have noticed that I am getting sharp pains in my lower abdomen now whereas I wasn't before.

This is my first pregnancy so it is all new to me

you're just carrying lower now. our little guy has been down there the whole time. the pains in the lower abdomen, back pain... fun times. we are almost done. 14 wks, 2 days.

ya my daughter this time seemed to lay on my bladder for ever then one day I noticed she was way up high it was such a relief... now it seems she has migrated back down to my bladder and lower... ugh what discomfort. Baby has a lot of room to move at your age in the game.... so dont be suprised if you get a little relief for a bit ;p
