hi, im 19 and just found out that i am 2-3 weeks pregnant with my ex of 4 years. we have both decided we are going to keep the baby and raise it together while being just friends. i really dont know how to tell my parents without them completley flipping out on me.... i have a full time job i graduated highschool 2 years ago and am supposed to be staring college in may. i have called my college and asked if i could start my placement 2 months early so i can finish just intime for the baby to get here, and they have agreed. my ex and i have it all planned out and thats not the part im worried about. i fully expect my parents to be upset but my family is VERY judgemental.... how do i tell them without them completly disowning me..?
That being said, if you told them one day that 'hey, fyi I get to start school early,' and then later you let it slip that you and your ex have been on really good terms lately, then that would be a good start. Let them see your plan first without letting them know why.
Judgy people will judge, it's what they do. But if your family disowned you, an adult, for making the adult decision to get your life in order and have a child, their grand child BTW who they should love and spoil anyway, then I would personally say that they aren't worth the time worrying about. They can be sad or mad or angry or scared for you at first, but they should also come around eventually.
