Sharp Pains

I am 35 weeks pregnant and ever since last night when I went to bed I am having sharp pains in my lower abdomen. There not regular but they have happened about 4 times today. My stomach doesnt harden or anything like that its just a sharp shooting painful pain that last a couple of seconds. I can still feel the baby move but is this that they call a braxton hicks contraction?

yer hun it is im 32 weeks im gettin em too yesterday i was in pain on and off all day too they didnt last long and wasnt in ne pattern so ur simply experiencin them braxton hix there uncomfy tho aint they!

sounds like it micht be from what i have heard ... but if you are concerned that it could be something else, never hesitate to call ur doctor or midwife any time! ur local hospital should have a midwife on call 24 hours a day. i called at 3 am once! ;-) good luck!

you will know if its braxton hicks if you drink cold water, and lie on your left side and they go away. Or try doing something, take your mind off it and people say they go away.
If they become regular or you get more then 4 in an hour then your suposed to call the doc.
They are so uncomfortable, but sooon just think, you'll be holding your little one:)

I too just had this happen to me. Im only 27 weeks thats why it freaked me out so bad. But I went to my dr. and here to find out it was a bladder infection..I had the same symptoms as you, so you might want to ask the dr. about that

The baby could be hitting your cervix. That's a sharp shooting pain. Braxton hicks contractions will, like you said, harden your abdomen.

I would call your Dr. If your stomach isn't hardening, it most likely isn't Braxton Hicks. Are you having the pains in your lower back as well? I had those symptoms and wound up being in pre-term labor. Mine started at 33weeks, but so far I have made it to 35 weeks.
