Since I have no kids - I have no idea what you'll need. I am almost 19 weeks, so I'll be having to figure it out too - and since we are prob moving out of state then I'm guessing there won't be a shower for me to rely on. But do you have a baby registry yet? Are you making sure to put things on there that are the basics - not just the fun stuff? Are you familiar with pinterest?? I bet you could do a search on there for baby necessities or a similar word choice and it would have all sorts of help. And don't just think of stuff for the baby - think of stuff for you..... there are things a post-birthing mama will need. I read an article about it and if I can find it, I'll post the link here.

It depends on your friends ;) will they most likely spend some money on you, or do homemade stuff? Keep in mind that gift cards are usually something you get at a baby shower that can help you buy big ticket items ;) A lot of times people like to buy clothes, but put diapers on a registry. You can't imagine how many diapers you'll go though with a newborn! Congrats, and have fun shopping!!

Pampers. You can never have too many. First aid kit, grooming kit, if you drive: backseat mirror and backseat organizer, wipe warmer, hangers, nipple pads, digital thermometer, nasal aspirator. Hope these help.

Yes, I made a babies R Us registry and it's more on the practical side, no clothes. I've been told people will just buy cute stuff. My friends are on the crafty side/second hand side of the spectrum.

Next people are looking for me to pick a nursery theme... I'm thinking giraffes, bumblebees... something that incorporates yellows and greens.

One of the thing I discovered after I had my first baby, was that I could still go out. I was always thinking I had to have everything ready to go when the baby got here, but after he was born I was antsy to get out of the house, and wished I had something to buy. I was too prepared. Now it might be different for you... You might not want to go anywhere, maybe you will ;)

We got gifted a car seat, so I ordered a backseat mirror and organizer today. It didn't add up to $25 so I ordered 2 pacifiers and a pacigrip.

16 weeks, lots of time to shop.

We found out Thurs that we are having a boy, so we stopped at Tractor Supply and found 3 really cute boy coveralls on sale. Regularly $25 and marked down to $5. I bought them in different sizes, all the way up to 18 months
