I believe the heartbeat isn't usually seen until 5.5-7 weeks. Here is a link that may help:

I agree with Isys. Normally docs won't even do an ultrasound until 8 weeks to be sure that they can see one (and see a gestational sac as well). My regular OB couldn't see one at 6.5 weeks, but at 8 weeks we went to a specialist perinatal center and they picked it up rather quickly (prob due to higher quality machines!). Tell her not to worry too much and try back in 2 weeks, but I'm sure her doc is telling her the same thing!

didn't have my first ultrasound until 7 weeks and they got a heartbeat then

5 weeks is too early, I had and ultrasound at 5 weeks and nothing after that I had another one at 7 weeks and 2 heartbeats. My doc was no expecting to see heartbeats at 5weeks just the 2 sacs.

I saw our first heartbeat at 4 weeks 5 days which I heard was very early. It also depends on how good the ultrasound equipment is.

I saw my sons at 6 weeks
She will just have to wait and see, horrible stress, but it happens

that was good for me t know too. I just finished my 6th week and she couldn't see it, which she said was normal...she saw a flicker...but still, I'll feel better next week when we see it.
