Progesterone supplements & levels

Are any of you that are pregnant or have gotten pregnant been on progesterone suppository supplements??? And if so did your doctor test your levels 5-7 days after ovulation??? AND again IF SO what were your levels WITH the supplements and being pregnant???

I'm asking because I'm on the supplements and got my results today and am just trying to gage what my levels mean. I know that with supplements your progesterone level should be higher, but when your prego and have the supplements what was your levels???

The supplements really only make about a 10 point difference according to my doctor....

Yes, my doctor said mine wouldn't even reflect in my blood work at all, so the level you're getting is what your body is making. 43 is great!

To put your progesterone level in perspective, I am 5 & 1/2 weeks pregnant and with 400 mg of Progesterone suppositories AND 100 mg injections, my level was at 49. LOL You are doing great! (incidentally 49 is HIGH for first trimester). I have a chart with expected levels of progesterone through pregnancy if you would like me to email it...

I don't know if i'm pregnant or not yet...I'm not supposed to test till 16 days after ovulation which would be next Saturday.

Do you think my progesterone being that high is a good sign though? Like why else would it be so high is what I'm feeling? But last night I was getting those period type cramps and I usually ALWAYS get them exactly one week before my period is due, which is about right if I got them last night? I'm so nervous, we've been trying for so long and I'm running out of time!

The only tricky thing is that Progesterone is produced from ovulation til your cycle (and through pregnancy), so it is not an indicator of pregnancy. My doctor DID check my Progesterone levels from ovulation until cycle...every other day! lol (Yes, my arms were black and blue from blood draws.) He was looking for any hormonal abnormalities.

HNelson is right that the supplements do not make a huge difference when done vaginally, in terms of blood levels, so much of that 43 number is natural. Injections are different. It takes both for me to get where you are.... :-)
