Short story, I began dating a man who was separated from his wife. We have known each other for years although we were never romantically involved until late. Everything was fine with us, even though he had drama on the marriage side of the situation. Well four months into our relationship, his wife tells him she is five months pregnant.
I was understanding. I told him the stand up thing would be to be there for her and he needed to do right in that situation. I told him to reconsider divorce. He was shocked. From my stand point, I was hesitant to date a man separated from his wife in the beginning. The drama just kept piling on and I just wanted out before it got worse.
No such luck. I took a PT a few weeks ago. Positive. Went to the Doc and I'm 7 weeks pregnant. I told him, not because I want him back, but because if I go to term he needs to know he has another child. He wants me to get an abortion. My body, my rules. I'm pro choice and I have made the choice not to abort. He freaked out on me saying that he would have to tell his wife and she would probably not let him see his other children if she found out.
At first, I felt bad and for a day considered getting an abortion. Then I realized that he can take responsibility for what he has done and it's not my responsibility to smooth his life over while turning my emotions inside out. I told him to do what he wanted. He has months to figure it out.
I don't want to be with him. I feel as if he owes her his support because legally they are still married and he made a commitment until death. I just want him to have a relationship with his child.
In the meantime, I'm trying to prepare myself to go through all this on my own. Pregnancy, delivery, and raising. I know it will be hard, but it's doable right? I mean, I can do this right?

He is the coward. Now he has to face the consequences of living 2 lives, which it sounds like he was. If he and his wife were truly splitting up than him being with another woman would not cause him such issues.
Not only that, but legally she cannot stop him from seeing his other children, that is not how custody works in any state. He is trying to make you feel bad. Don't let him.
