Pregnancy moodswings

I am pregnant for the first time. I have been married for 6 months and I’m having the worst moodswings. While going through this and some anxiety about the pregnancy and the baby and life after the baby, my husband is clueless. When he finds me depressed or even about to cry, he finds it unreasonable as how could I be so negative when we are being so blessed with a baby on the way. I gind myself speechless because I tried explaining it many times but he doesn’t get it. I mean being unable to control my mood or even my tears is enough and I don’t need someone nagging over my head and taking it personal even when I’m in desperate need for support and reassurance.


how can I deal with these moodswings on my own?

Mood swings are common during pregnancy. These mood swings may be caused by physical stress, fatigue, the change in your metabolism or hormones. These mood swings are common during the first and third trimester of pregnancy. Just know that you are not alone and it is normal to have mood swings. Try get a lot of sleep, eating well, regular physical activity, going for a walk, watching movies and relaxing with your friends and spending time with your husband. If your mood swings last more than 2 weeks and do not get any better, try talking your doctor for suggests to refer you to a counselor.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and also having mood swings. One minute I love my partner and think what an amazing dad he will be, then he'll try to give me a hug and I don't want him to touch me. I feel excited about the baby, then completely freaked out and terrified, or just sad. Luckily he's been pretty understanding, but of course can't fully understand what its like. I'm looking for a pregnancy group to meet with near me. I think it was really smart of you to ask for help in finding ways to manage the mood swings. You need that support. I wish your husband was more supportive, but you are not alone.

Next time you go to a Drs appointment have hubby come with you. Explain to your Dr that you're both ( even though it's really him since you know they're normal) concerned about the fact that you're having negative mood swings. Ask if it's normal and what you can BOTH do to help manage them.

Or call your Dr before the appointment and let them know that hubby finds the fact that you're experiencing mood swings to be unreasonable and ask that they put the knowledge smack down on him when you get there.
