i've just popped over from the anxiety community! cos soon i want to start trying for a baby (my first) but i have things already on my mind, an i'm glad i found this, cos i imagine pregnancy is very stressful, and really i need to keep the stress down! so the main thing that is on my mind is, how long will it take to get pregnant??? i know this will vary widly, but what are your experiences?? and what do you do to hurry nature along once u start trying, i ask this cos i imagine this to kick off my anxiety, u know, if it dosnt happen straight away! also i was 25 in september, am i old? will this affect my chances of gettin pregnant?? thanks advice appreciated lol xx

No you aren't old! There are many women who have beautiful healthy babies at all different ages. I guess it can be more difficult the older you become and the risk factors for some things increase with age, but I know many friends/family that have had little trouble getting pg and they are past 30. You're right it varies from woman to woman. It took us 8 months to get pg and we did hurry nature along b/c my cycles weren't regular coming off the pill...standard time before having tests done or looking into medication of any sort I believe is at least 6 months - 1 year. But again, this can vary from doctor to doctor and situation to situation. Hope this helps!

25 is not old at all thats actually agreat age! I was 24 when I became pregnant with my oldest and 25 when I had him. It varies as far as how long it takes. We happen to be very fertile so we conceieve without even trying. prior to my son we both thought we were not fertile at all. I am now 27 weeks with baby 3 who will be our very last one:) Good LUck....

Yeah, not old! I got pregnant right away, but I know couples who had to wait six months, a year, and one couple even took a little over 10 years. They say that you shouldn't worry at all during the first year of trying and after that you can talk to your doctor if you are worried. Don't worry. Just take it one period at a time and see what happens. When I was trying, I tried to have the attitude that I probably wouldn't get pregnant, but if I did it would be a pleasant surprise! I thought that was healthy for me.

25 is not to old to have ababy ...i m36 and am pregnant with wins. pregnancy is stressful and ittook me 13 years to get pregnant... but msot people it doesnt take that long. It can be as fast as the first tiem you try or take a number of years. I think if it tkes you moe than a few years you could try differnet treatments recomeneded by your doctor. Another way to make sure you havea greater cahnce to concieve is to use a Basil thermometer it recoirds your body temperature and tells you when a good time to try would be. Hope this helps

Welcome! I'm new to this community too. I am also a part of another community here at Daily Strength.

You're not too old! I just turned 31 and I am 4 1/2 months pregnant.

As for how long it will take to get pregnant, I can't really answer that one.
It's different for everyone. My husband and I were lucky - we got pregnant right away. We announced in late August that we were going to try for a baby and I got pregnant a couple weeks later. But, it really varies with everyone.

I am 25 and 4 months pregnant with my first. It took me about a year to concieve. I had been on and off a lot of birth control (different kinds) for 6 years prior. When the time is right it will happen. Personally I think I am less stressed being pregnant. I don't care as much about the little things, because I know what is important... my health and the little baby growing in my belly!
