I got the results back from a 25 week scan and have a low-lying placenta. After Googling (yikes) the diagnosis, a vaginal birth doesn't look promissing. Can anyone give me advice, encouragement or personal experience?

I'm sorry you got this news. I do not know what it is like to have a low lying placenta, but I have had other issues, and I know the stress and the scariness of it all. I just wanted to say that I had an emergency c-section at 32 weeks with my son...it was scary and he made it through, I didn't plan on a c-section and didn't want it, but vaginal or c-section...whatever happens just know that you are doing what is best for your baby and c-section was not as horrible as people told me it was. Just keep positive about all this, thats the key! Sending thoughts and prayers.

I am 22weeks and have low lying placenta as well. My doc said it resolves by itself 99% of the time and has scheduled a scan after 30weeks.. no other restrictions imposed either . so stay cool and be positive

I've had a low lying placenta in three of my pregnancies. The first two resolved themselves by the time I was thirty weeks. I did have to have a C-section with the third one though.
If you do have to have a c-section i would suggest that you keep the full panel belly support bands around. they are a godsend for after a c-section.
