Our baby girl was due on March 1st but as it stands has made no appearance as of yet.
I have not had any internal examinations yet so I don't know how things are progressing down there.

I just wanted to ask as for the past 2 days I have been feeling more pressure on my cervix and back passage. I have been having soft/loose bowel movements these 2 days.
Also a few sharp pains in my lower abdomen around my pubic bone area.
I can't say that I have noticed any other signs.

Could labour be not too long away?
I am booked in for a membrane sweep on March 9th but would much rather things happened before then.

Sounds like it to me...the loose stools, the pain in lower back and increased pressure...Good luck :)

sounds promising to me but i also experienced that for awhile too. when i was in labor, i knew it was time to push when i got the strong rectal pressure. (i did have an epidural so im sure i would have felt a lot more.) i cant believe that they havent checked you yet! id ask for it!

Well its now March 6th so I am 5 days over due and nothing happened overnight. I'm guessing it's just my body getting ready for labour but not actually going into it.

Yes it's my first, they will let you get to 42 weeks here.

I don't know why nobody has checked me...maybe that's just how it's done in the UK.

Im booked for a sweep on 9th so they will do a check then as the sweep can only be done if my cervix is favourable anyway.

Fingers crossed it happens before then :o)

Those sound like text book signs of approaching labor. They say your bowels try to clean themself out before labor, and the pressure is most likely the baby dropping into position. I don't remember having any signs and both my boys came at 41wks. Hopefully things will happen soon for you.

My three girls were all 2 weeks overdue. Remember that your due date isn't exact, and you can go 2 weeks in either direction. Here in the US docs seem to be pretty impatient about waiting. Baby will come when he/she is ready.

But it does sound like you've got early signs that the baby is descending - so maybe your big day is close!
