I'm pretty sure you have to prove paternity by the courts before they will issue a child support order. So that will require a DNA test.

I wish there was something more you could do! I'm not really sure you have a whole lot of options. YOu need to apply for medical and they will ask you to sign stating who the father is, and you may be entitled to other benefits through the state, and once paternity is proven they will take him to court for reimbursement. At that point they will garnish his wages if he has a job.

I am pretty sure that u can't. which is a shame. cuz there is so much stuff a baby needs before he/she comes. maybe someone in ur family could throw u a baby shower? also maybe try resale shops where u could get things cheaper? or friends that have old things they dont use? I had to basically beg my ex to help me get stuff for the baby. he didnt do much. one thing u might be able to get is WIC which will give u vouchers to get food u need while ur preg and then afterward vouchers for formula for ur baby. Heres what you do, u tell him ok so u dont wanna take care of it u bitch but u do have to pay for shit it needs if not the day hes/shes born im taking your punk ass to court and getting money from you, and if he says u will have to prove it say fine i will say u are the father and because u say you need proof they will make you pay for the test $ 500 hahahaha hahahahahahaha, i love it. let him know u can pay a little now or alot later. smile and walk away he will call!!!!
