Hello everyone. Now i know every pregnancy is different but i have got to ask.... I am 20 weeks along not a very big belly yet and am pretty sure i havent really felt to much movement yet. Everyone i talk to says wow your not very big for five months and cant believe i cant feel the baby move yet. This is my first and i was about 40lbs over weight when i got prego. I have heard if this is first baby for mom and or if she is over weight when pregnancy happens it takes a while to show and feel movement. Anyone in my shoes?? i have my next appointment wednesday so i can ask and eliminate any fears but in prego time wednesday is an eternity away lol. Any input as always is greatly appreciated : ) thanks ladies.

hello! i'm currently 22 weeks along, and i just started feeling movement a week or 2 ago. when i was around 20 weeks i had everyone at work asking 'have you felt it move yet?' all excited.. and my answer was always 'not really' or 'i don't think so...' and then all of a sudden BAM i can feel him move every night now. i'm not overweight, i actually started off very underweight, so i'm sure if you've heard that's a contributing factor to not showing and not feeling any movement for awhile, you might get to 24 weeks or more without much 'evidence'. but it will come before you know it, i'm sure! i've also had everyone tell me that i should be bigger, and even my midwife said i was measuring a couple weeks behind. but i've sort of ballooned in the past couple of weeks! all in good time ;)

This is my second baby and I am 26 weeks pregnant. I still dont really feel alot of movement. Mostly when I am laying down to go to bed, but this time I am having a girl (if that makes a difference) and she is breech and facing in, so her back is facing out. I think that has alot to do with it, your baby might just be positioned funny at this point and your placenta might be in a place where it sort of cushions the kicks a little maybe? Everytime she kicks, it is literally on my bladder or my guts! Totally different than my son, my DH has a hard time feeling her too, I am hoping she will turn soon because it's also pretty uncomfortable at times and I have trouble breathing. Do you know if your baby is head down? or where your placenta is? Just food for thought. I'm sure everything is fine :)

Hey, with my first one I felt some movements here and there, and sometimes I really had to pay attention. With my second, I'm feeling a TON of movement. Turns out this second one attached to the back of my uterus, and the u/s tech said that where the baby implanted plays a huge factor in when and how you feel movement. Perhaps at your next u/s appt you could ask about that?

I am a bit over 26 weeks into my first pregnancy. I was a bit over weight (due to some medication) when I got pregnant. It can affect the feeling sometimes but sometimes I find it hard to distinguish if the movement is baby or gas bubbles. Instead of feeling actual movement I tend to feel pain when my son is moving. He too was breech with his back facing my tummy (I think it's his favorite position to lie in) but I do get to feel toes and heads and butts every once in a while. I really started to feel the activity around 22 weeks but at first only when I was lying down. Now I feel the activity through out the day. Each pregnancy is different and you will start to show when your body is ready. Remember if this is your first your body hasn't ever done this before. I didn't really start to show until I was nearly 6 months into my pregnancy. When people would find out that I was pregnant their reaction was "there's no way! your not showing yet!" Each time I got that response I talked to my OB about it and they always helped to elevate my fears. Good luck and remember that your not alone in all of this.

I am over weight. Having my second girl, this one kicks just as hard and as much as my first one did. I am now almost 32 weeks, started feeling movement around 16/17 weeks. Every pregnancy is different, try not to focus too much on this. Pretty soon you will be wishing for the baby to stop punching and kicking your bladder and ribs. lol

I felt my baby around 16 weeks... but it was just flutters. Alot of women don't pay enough attention to notice it or mistakes it as gas early on. I didn't really feel kicks to around 18/19 weeks. I am very overweight. I have a cousin that felt her baby around 21 weeks. Every baby and every pregnancy is different. The baby may be facing your back so you don't really feel the kicks/punches. I am currently 29 weeks and I can feel when the baby rolls over and then when he faces my back I don't feel him move as much and then he will roll back over again and face outwards and I can feel him normally again.
