This might be helpful, as I wasn't sure what that was either, and had to look it up to see what it involves. Not sure how sucessful they are but seems like a less intrusive way to start the labor process.

Franny I was due March 1st so if I do get to march 9th I will be term + 8 days. I have not yet had an internal exam (just the way things are done in UK, I guess they hold off as long as they can to do an internal like until labour starts or something).
Mind you if I do get to 8 days over due then my cervix should be nice and ripe so hopefully will have more of a chance of working
