I am now 8 days overdue.
I went to the hospital for a membrane sweep first thing this morning to try bring on labour...only they couldn't do it because baby's head is not engaged and there is a risk of cord prolapse if they were to sweep and my membranes broke.
So I am going in on the evening of Thursday March 11th to be induced.
I was gutted they couldn't do it as my normal midwife hadn't warned me that they won't be able to do it if baby is not engaged so I wasn't prepared for that.
Still I am so ready to have her now, I'm just glad I've got a date for induction

Wow, I am hopeful everything goes well on the 11th, and I'm sorry you weren't prepared to not have the membrane sweep done. Seems like at 8 days overdue I'd be ready as well to just have her here already :) Good luck and please keep us posted, I wish you the best, happy, healthy labor.....(((HUGS)))
western medicine puts added pressure to get the babies out by 42 weeks stating complications from being over due but she says that the risks are less of what complications come from induction and epidural use. not to mention any other intervention.
Your baby will come when she's fully cooked!! But I also understand the induction - just to be safe.
