You will be fine. Many women have MTHFR and get through successful pregnancies with their doctor's help. I have just one copy of it (a1298c) so my doc has me on 3mg folic acid, a B-50 complex, prenatals, and baby aspirin. Be sure to ask about high dose folic acid or getting on Lovenox or something similar. Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

isysmother - I was put on 400mcg of folic acid that is only .4 mg do you think I should question him about that.. I have had several people mention lovenux do you take it? I also have 1 copy. Thank you for your prayers

I have both copies of MTHFR and as long as the folic acid (4 mg a day) keeps my homocysteine level normal I wont have to take aspirn or any kind of blood thinner. Its a scary diagnosis but just do what the doctor says and it will all be ok :)

I would definately be asking about taking more folic acid cause it's one of the things that cannot hurt a baby. Even many studies show that pregnant women in general should be taking 800mcg rather than just 400mcg. Which copy do you have, a1298c or c677t? I do not take lovenox, but I know a lot of women on here who are heterozygous mthfr do so that is why I mentioned it.
