I havnt been here in some time now but I need some advice or something.
Im 17 weeks pregnant today. Everything is going fine and me and the baby are healthy (like it was in my previous pregnancy). But every know and then I have this nasty thought: "this pregnancy is going to end badly" or "you are not going to be a mom to a living baby" or something like that. I try not to think about it and I try to ignore it but its always there underneath.
Like the other day I forced myself to buy some babyclothes even though I thought is was no use because I was not going to use them.
Can you ladies relate to this thought? Or am I going crazy?
That's not crazy at all. With what we have been through, unfortunately we know the worst that can happen. We are all afraid of it happening again. I have tried to stay positive and thing positive thoughts. I picture myself getting ready for delivery, holding my baby in the hospital, introducing him/her to my older daughter, the first trip to the beach (i'm due in july), etc. But even as I try to think like this all the time, sometimes those negative thoughts creep in. I just try to ignore them and have faith that it wont happen again.
I hope this helps a little. Just knowing that you are not the only one feeling this way, will hopefully help you feel less 'crazy'.
Not crazy at all. I definitely feel the same way, and I think it's normal to have those feelings after a loss. Just try to take it one day at a time.
I ask myself every day if this baby is going to die. Every day I think about holding a healthy baby and also have thoughts of that day when I might not hear a heartbeat. You're in good company here. It's totally fine to think that way. Balancing our fear with optimism is the best we can do, because the fear is inevitable.
