Hi everyone, hope you are doing well. I was wondering if any of you who are farther along in your pregnancies have been seen by Dr. Jason Collins at the pregnancy institute, and if so, how was the experience?
For anyone who doesn't know-- Dr Collins is an obgyn that has dedicated much of his career to the study and prevention of stillbirth. His research is fascinating to me, and I am considering contacting him later on. Thanks.
I just had my rainbow son 3/2/11. We went to see Dr Collins and used his services (nightly fetal heart rate monitoring). I'm so glad that I had the monitor. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to message me!

I have thought about it - I was just curious as to how much it costs to consult him? I assume regular insurance would not cover such a thing? I would love to get her opinion on Adelyn's cord and what might have really happened, even though she was not considered stillborn, she died minutes after birth.
Yes, I work somewhat closely with him through the Star Legacy Foundation. There are several women on here who have used him and I am planning to as well. If you just want to speak to him or have him review something, he pretty much does all of that for free. Preventing stillbirths is his passion and he is always glad to help. You can email him through his website, but prepared. He will typically call you very soon following your email. His fetal monitoring is $2,000 and no, insurance will not cover it. He is a non-profit and these funds are to keep the monitoring going. He monitors a handful of women each month. I encourage everyone to look into his research, talk with him, and definitely consider using his fetal montoring. A lot of us with cord issues have higher chances of them reoccurring. Best wishes everyone!
We used Dr Collins for our rainbow baby. He is very helpful and has a wealth of knowledge. He will talk to you on the phone at no charge. He has answered the phone every time I have called him. If you want more information, message me.
My husband jokes that he is the president of the Dr Collin's fan club.
