Early pubic hair, breast, or genital development may result from normal but early maturation or from several abnormal conditions. Early puberty which is normal in every way except age is termed idiopathic central precocious puberty. It may be partial or transient. If your child is going through early puberty, share your experiences here and get support.
Hi Everyone, I've been away from Daily Strength for a number of years, but recently have been reflecting on my experience as a child who had precocious puberty. I was three when I was diagnosed and Lupron had just come out and was not even FDA approved yet. My PP was progressing at a rapid rate and this drug helped to stop it.
I am hear to lend an ear to any parents who want to ask me anything about my experience to help support them. You are free to ask me anything.
I am also here to find others like myself and their experience so that I can have one major question answered. I recently received all my medical paperwork after my parents and I parted ways. It was interesting to see all the medical notes compared to the experience.
Just know I am at a better place than I was before, I am not 100% but who is. Just know I am here to support everyone and I applaud the parents in here who are showing love and compassion for their children. Your children will be ok, when they see your love and compassion that is what they will remember most. Sending blessings out to all of you and your children.

Me diagnosed at 4 and I did not receive any treatments but I did get a lot of poking and prodding at the Children's Hospital for their records and I have mine too (the records) very interesting indeed to compare perspectives.
I know a lot of us, I am not sure about the current generation, but I know before the 90's were poked and prodded and it still haunts me to this day. I'm so happy you were able to get your records from children's. I will actually call Children's to make sure I have all of mine. I only have what my mother gave me when I left. So I believe it is everything, but I would love to double check.
My main question, to both Hetaira and to all parents and anyone else who is from my generation or before the "guinea pig generation", if you are comfortable answering which I would be eternally grateful so that I may reach closure and peace is:
We're parents asked to do at home examinations in between the medical appointments? The best way I would put it, is the poking and prodding or writing down anything you saw but I don't mean as you see changes in your child or if you were to change your child. I mean more in the sense was anyone ever told by a doctor to do a full physical exam on their child at home in between medical appointments much like they do at the doctors office?
I apologize ahead of time if this is a trigger for anyone. I mean zero harm. I completely understand if no one answers, but I would love to know the truth 27 years later. Also, trust me I can absolutely handle the truth. My life with PP and outside was no cake walk, all I want is the truth so I know that when I have children whether my children are safe around my mother. I thank anyone in advance willing to answer. My story is that my mother hung around some pretty "seedy" individuals when I was growing up and later on she became a counselor for abused women at a women's shelter, she had been horribly abused by my pill-popping alcoholic step-dad and it turns out that my life had an impact on his best friend because later on at this womens shelter my mom worked at, she got to meet my step-dads best friends lady and daughter, he had abused them both and this lady told my mother that he would perform examinations on her because he knew a girl with a disorder and he wanted to be sure she didn't have it too. He honestly used me as an excuse to molest his BABY daughter.
Very wrong.
I too apologize for being so blunt, I am just this way... I don't know your mothers reasoning, all I know is that I personally condemn the behavior and I am one of the most sexually open people I know of.
Definitely get the records yourself. Was there anything at all indicating reasons for home examinations ?
I don't mind blunt I absolutely appreciate it, respect it, and that is how I am. My psychiatrist told me it did not sound normal and my therapist said the same. My mother was nothing like the loving parents on this blog. When I was sick and threw a tantrum which I just found out was recently a side effect of the lupron, my mother would call me a "little sh**" and spank me till she let all her anger out. I know spanking may not sound bad, but when it's with all the force an adult has and they are an alcoholic and emotionally abusive, it takes it's toll. When I got to big to spank it was grabbing my arm and backhanding me in the face. She is now 5 years sober, but is still verbally abusive. I have been asked by so many psychiatrists if she sexually abused me so I had to ask, this group because it was my only hope for the truth. I had a feeling that was the answer because she was always half buzzed at the time.
As for my records, she gave me every letter between every doctor, every chart, even old scripts, medical bills, and her notes of each doctors appointments. My parents were told to give me the shots at home because my dad was always in New York and my parents would have to drive an hour into Boston. Or I should say my mom. I will see if there are more records, but I literally have a whole box. In it it says nothing about at home examinations. If anyone else, any parents or anyone else who was also a child with PP can just even let me know by saying "never told to", as in do examinations on your child or "yes I was". I would forever be grateful. Hetaira, I'm not sure if you are religious, or spiritual or none of the above, so I will say many many blessings to you for answering me and being blunt. Thank you so much. You will hold a special place in my heart because now I am at peace and if I have children, I won't feel guilty keeping her away from them. I wish you only the best life has to offer.
I can't recall exactly who she is but I am going to go see if I can find her again now.
