im sick of feeling this way ! it seems as if i have been living this way for years and it just keeps getting worse each time. i am married have children and i love my husband but i can't forget all the bad thing's that happened between me and him . he was unfaithful to me many times during our first years of being married but he has totally changed and is a total diffrent person and husband and i love him for changing and trying his hardest to always make thing's work out. i feel bad that i always have to bring up the past and talk about all the bad thing's that happened between us how he treated me in the first years of our marriage and how unfaithful he was. we have been married for almost 18 yrs and he has not been unfaithful to me ever again. the biggest problem i have is not being able to forget the past and move on and i want to forget all the bad thing's he did to me and i want too think positive because i am a very negative person. i also grew up with a hard childhood where my stepdad was very strict and would always use the belt when me or my brother's were bad. he would also mentally abuse us not to the extreme but yes he used a belt on us many, many times and said really mean thing's as well so all of this has piled up and i am having a hard time trying to forget. i think i do have PTS because i have been reading up on it and all the information sounds very much like mines. can someone please tell me if i do have this problem or what you think i should do???
thank you so much!
see a therapist. Seriously, this is I found out I had PTSD. I was in school, doing a report on PTSD. I understood the info way WAY too well. 3 months later, I saw a therapist and was diagnosed. I felt better knowing that it wasn't me being weak, then scared that I have this now. But you can't fight back until you actually know. My therapist taught me ALOT of techniques on how to deal with it.
You need to get counseling however you can. I was given "whippings" but they did not affect me as they did you. But we're all so different. Get yourself to a good therapist, whatever it takes. If you don't have the money, call on some sort of social services in your area. You should live a full and happy life. If your husband isn't cheating on you now or abusing you (did the cheating remind you of your childhood somehow?) you could have some other kind of anxiety condition. I wish you well. You need a diagnosis. Doctors aren't always great at it, neither are theraists. Keep going until you find the truth that you know is right. Bless you. And good luck
I shot myself almost 17 years ago and someone found me. I survived and made a lot of changes for the better. It wasn't my father who was rough on me, it was my mother. I pretty much I was told I was never good enough, that I was ugly, stupid and going to hell almost every day of my life. She died when I was 22.
I could give you my life story, but it would take too long. I thought I was shooting myself over a guy. However, it seems that there is a lot of correlation between him and how my mother treated me.
Actually my life was really good for a long time (marriage, kids, etc.) until I saw the guy, his, wife and family online. it triggered PTSD, and I have not been the same since. I have found a type of therapy called EMDR. Look it up, read about it and watch it on You Tube. It can change your life! I was at the point of suicide again, and it took a lot of work to get out of it, but i still have little triggers here and there.
I really just need someone to talk to when I get triggered. Hope you can chat with me.
from the day you are born everybody is a different person year to year when your 21 you are not the same person when you were 15, and when your 30 you are not the same person you were at 21. people grow through experiences they have going through life. thats where the expression learn through your mistakes comes from every day you learn something new and you change and become a different person. your husband is not the same person that cheated on you and has changed because he learned through his mistake that he loves you so don't be angry with him because he is no longer that person.

i get daymare in addition to night mares sometimes. i stare off into space and then some recall happens.
had a tenant 4 years ago who was killing our animals and animals in the neighborhood. now i have nightmares from that as well. something else to handle. our legal system sucks. one person is incarcerated for life for what they do and another elsewhere, does even worse stuff and is walking around because she is bipolar and schizophrenic. how about if you commit the crime, unless its self defense then the crime is punishable by death. no more $40,000 per year bills to "take care of" prisoners and no more should be prisoners walking around commiting more crime. how about you abuse an animal you will be executed. problem solved.

If you want, I made a Youtube video of my story, and you can see it here: http://youtu.be/0HLk8W8Kznc
There also is a technique called tapping that can really help when you get stuck in the past. I can send you more info on this if you want too.
