What Do YOU take for PTSD insomnia?
mujicaptsd
For PTSD insomnia I'm taking 3 melatonin pills that are 3mg each, and for PTSD nightmares I'm taking 1mg of Prazosin. The Prazosin is working great for me, once I get to sleep I don't have combat nightmares from growing up as a missionary kid in a war zone abroad any more. From that experience in my formative developmental years I used to have some doozies. But just getting to sleep what with my PTSD hypervigilance at night can be tough. It was last night until 3-30am. Any suggestions, anyone?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Oh so sorry you are being plagued by insomnia. You and i have this affliction in common as you know...
i've heard magnesium can help you too get to sleep...try the powered kind.
i take it during the day for anxiety. Sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't.
i also highly recommend Dr.Teal's Soothe & Sleep epsom salt and lavender bubble bath.
That stuff often knocks me out.
I hope you will get some other suggestions and some deep peaceful sleep soon, very soon, friend.
Eventually.
Melatonin can have a rebound affect... Thus it can stop sleep if you take it regularly ... I hope that you can find some relief... xo

rose, the heavy blanket works for me, too, it makes me feel like a baby being swaddled. Nice.
Sorry you're going on 1 hour of sleep! Yikes!
You can count on me to be with you as June 11th looms large for you, my friend. For me it's Dec. 8th, when that military death squad tortured me when I was a teen on the mission field abroad. Sending you support for rest tonight.
