Hey All..... We have a lot of new members and I'm so glad that we do.....I just wanted to share the DS Rules of the Road with them... DS is a site for support and therefore we have some rules to follow so that people don't get hurt here and feel safe
There are a lot of longtime members and that's because we always treat one another with dignity, kindness and respect
THe Daily Strength Rules are on the bottom of the page.......I'll put up a link on the first comment so you can read them easily... A link won't post on the OP......xo

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

TW Trigger Warning. (A warning that the content of the post may be triggering to others)
FF Feeling Fragile ( Asking people to be kind with responses)
PNA Please No Advice (just as it states, sometimes we know that there's a better way, but for the moment all we want are hugs or to just be heard)
FYI clicking on a link will take you away from DS. If you left click on it, you can open the link while keeping DS in your original window
Just my advice: People get warned or banned for getting into on board fights more than anything else. Plainly put, you can say just about anything you want about people who are NOT on DS. But you can't say anything about another DS member...anywhere on DS. Not on the thread where the dispute is taking place. Not on another thread. Not on another DS board. Not in a private group. Not in your journal.
Do people get away with saying things...yes, all of the time. But it catches up with people sooner or later, and then end up warned/banned.
Better to either straight out ignore someone, or to put them on Ignore (down arrow beside any post of theirs). You can "un-Ignore" them by going to your profile. USE the feature...it works.
Welcome and Heartfelt Hugs, Patti
If you are feeling upset with another member you can put that member on ignore....
If you believe a person has been abusive with you can report it to DS but you can't get into a fight with a member... You can write DS under "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page or you can send a PM to a CL .... We can contact DS faster at times
Or take a break to calm down if you need to
DS gives people 2 warnings, a temporary ban (2 weeks) and then a permanent ban.... If a member ever threatens another member there is an automatic ban
DS never wants to ban anyone..... Most of us on here get along very well!!!.... Many have had to take a little break for a day or so..... Just like in life..... xo
As SunCloud put it, we Community Leaders don't want to ban anyone.
Then, though, you were right, Patti, in adding next "But it catches up with people sooner or later, and then end up warned/banned."
Because the enemy here is not each other, it's whoever traumatized us out there. Here we create a safe refuge from out there. So, as you put it so well, Patti, no calling out each other anywhere anyhow. Don't like somebody? Then use the "ignore" button. That's what it was made for.
This is the one place in the world where a beleaguered person with PTSD can catch a break from blaming the victim. Those are the Rules of the Road in the FAQ link at the bottom of every DS web page.

This is a good site people with lots of really good people and lots of good advice. The advice, like medications may or may not work for you, so please be mindful if you heed someone's advice you have a 50/50 shot at success. For me, I have been incognito lately because work is kicking my ass but I will never ever turn down helping anyone who needs it. I do check this 1-2 times a day for messages and I go from there.
By the way I am still gunning for CL. Would love support on that from anyone who wants to give it. The DS people above CL's (no idea what to call them lol) are aware I want to be one but want to really push through and see it. I hope everyone's summer or winter (depending on where you live) is going well and take care of eachother everyone. In moments of pure crisis we may be the only link to someone on that fence. We are trusted more than most because we have been there or still are there.
