my stomach is in my throat. I feel like the waves of the sea, strong but tossed around by the wind, unsteady, uncertain. I am a mess.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

The kind I learned is called "lovingkindness" meditation--the kind I needed to be kind to my little baby soul. My group used Jack Kornfield's book on it for guidance; I nearly memorized the thing by the time I got my meditation practice established. Here's a link to a Youtube by him about lovingkindness meditation.

Now whenever I'm out and about and have a panic attack coming on, I just say the meditation to myself: "May I be filled with lovingkindness, may I be well, may I be peaceful and at ease, may I be happy. May I have mental happiness, may I have physical happiness, may I have ease of well being."
I do that in time with my breath, and it stops me from escalating to vomiting or, worse, my past symptom of hyperventilating until I passed out and ended up hospitalized. It works for me most times.
Like Muji, I've found meditation and using words while breathing to help. I did that a lot these last couple months before going to a class that's triggered panic attacks and the "I"m bad" mental record I thought I had a better handle on. Breathing and focusing on repeating phrases helped me ride the wave through the panic attack. I know easier said than done sometimes, but I hope you're feeling better! ((Hugs))
