With your kids...work on seeing it from their point of view...even when it kills you. The more you're able to understand it from their point of view now, the more they'll be able to see it from your point of view later on.
I won't go into the all of what happened, but my ex left when my kids were 5 and 7. They're 15 and 17 now, and actually do understand. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
When we get involved...the kids feel compelled to pick sides. The more we stay out of it, the more free they are to see both of their parents as we really are (for good, bad and ugly).
Wish your daughter well when she visit's her dad (because you're wishing your DAUGHTER a good time), and when she comes back let her read in your face that you wanted her to have had a good time. This is about your daughter ...not about you, nor about your ex's new life.
As for the girlfriend...if she's good to your daughter...be grateful...be VERY grateful. My son all but hated his dad's girlfriend. My daughter hated/loathed/detested her.
I did end up getting "karma", but honest truth is...karma is a very, very, very sad thing. You're FAR better off without it.
