As far as treating offenders go, if a therapist can successfully rehabilitate an offender, then that means one less criminal to worry about.
So, try not to see it as your therapist taking sides, so much as him making the world a safer place for us all to live in. ;-)
I'm not minimizing your discomfort, btw. It makes sense that you would feel repulsed. It's hard for those of us who have betrayed by family to trust. I'd talk to your therapist about it, because if you don't trust him, he won't be able to help you.
If you feel triggered, do talk to your therapist about it.
Remember, the offender probably (over 90% chance) was molested as a child, too, so is a victim, as much as you are.
