A thousand purring puma cuddles, Muji, count them off as you need them, and there's more if you run out. I *hate* people being in the "down there" region, and that includes all and any entrances/exits to my body. Rape left me with a deep dread that "okay" would become "ouch", and while I've gotten through/over much of it? I have nightmares anyway about medical procedures involving my nethers. I was doing well on GYN stuff till a bad experience in an ER (irony: Female doctor) and it set me back 15 years at least. *sigh*

So I feel much empathy and sympathy for you. I panic more before an exam than during, and after I end up crying in relief it's over and wasn't bad.

I am so glad you get general anesthesia! YAY! Nap time! Do you have a safe ride home? After-care in place? (Yes, the puma turns into a mother hen on occasion, LOL. Or my Polish grandma. Whichever.)

Hurrah for general anesthesia, right?! When i had my colonoscopy I got up and thanked the anesthesiologist afterwards!

You and me, both, muji. Same elemental PTSD root. I didn't get to sleep through my colonoscopy in 1976, much less the aftermath. Colon cancer runs in my family, too, but I would rather face the cancer than another round of that. You are wa-a-ay ahead of me on this score.

Thanks, everybody. I got a little panicky an hour ago, but I think it was my blood sugar fluctuating. I'm diabetic, so this fasting they require before a colonoscopy plays with that, too. I drank some apple juice and got my wits about me once more.

When I had my tubal ligation done, my doctor (who was also my best friend and someone I trusted with my life) had to strap me to a table and I begged him to put me to sleep before he did it so I wouldn't freak out. Being handcuffed to a bed and gang raped kinda put a damper on being strapped to a table. I feel your anxiety and pain!! Thank God for anesthesia!!! BTW, that same Dr died a year later from colon cancer so I'm grateful that you're taking care of yourself!!!!!

Talking out my apprehension here really prepared me, y'all. I came through it fine. I will be sure to post here before my next one, because it really made me more calm than I've ever been before for this kind of procedure. Unfortunately, that won't be a year from now as expected. They want me to have another in 3 months. But coming here, I know I can do it.
