to go off the med for good

Have to go off mood stabilizer, even though I got very suicidal last weekend after being off of it last week. I was just getting better. Now I'm very physically sick again from the medication. Had to miss work last week, so this week I just took a medical leave of absence. Had to leave work early day today. My psychiatrist for the impossible to get a hold of. He doesn't have a secretary or an answering service. My drug insurance company say that the symptoms I am having, I should contact my doctor right away. This drug was help me so much and I get so suicidal without it. Do not know what I'm going to do.

So sorry you're going through this, cjpfaz. In 2011 I had a scare, when chronic kidney disease meant I had to go off of psyc meds. I did it, though, with the supervision of 3 doctors--a primary care doc, a kidney doc, and a psyc doc. Even then I was still scared, and missed a few days of work. The happy ending is that I came here and got a lot of support to get me through. Glad you're here. We're with you. Hope you get a hold of that psychiatrist pronto! Keep us posted, ok?

Think my neck is going to snap off soon and still can get either one of my doctors. I can move myym neck and I am no stranger ti pain but this is wow.

I don't knoe if alll...just took basic night meds...I slept a little because of reaction to med. Everytime Fern bumpped into me I hell at her...hope she understood it was the pain. She is out from her meds.

I am sorry you are feeling I'll from the med and concerned about your personal safety once off them. I think you have some very good input from people who have been there done that before. The only other thing I might add is that you go to the hospital if you cannot get a hold of your doctor. The doctor on call might be able to help you get off the drug safely and or contact your doctor for you

Yeah, if it gets that bad, CC is right, going to the hospital could get you the relief you need if you can't contact your doctors.

Hey cjpfaz,

Im really sorry you are going through so much pain. Meds can be such a crapshoot, yet so necessary at the same time (I find.)

My input would be to possibly go to the hospital. If you need a med change, they can do it right away. And if you have been becoming suicidal without the meds that need to be changed, you can be safe there.

Just rather safe than sorry.

Um...can you get another psychiatrist?

What good is one that you cannot find?

Am I correct in reading that you are having to go off because you ran out and doctor bozo is not around to write you a script for some more?

Can you call your GP... They can help if you pdoc isn't available.. I hope you feel better soon...x

    Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.
