My PTSD was later made worse like yours was from a home invasion. In my case it was because the country I lived in where my parents were missionaries, believe it or not, erupted in a civil war. We had a home invasion during the lawlessness of the war, and on another occasion my father was kidnapped and released. My neighbor who dad my 5th grade school pal's dad was kidnapped and killed, though.
So others of us have CPTSD here, too. Yet we can be high functioning. I've been hospitalized for my PTSD, but for going on 3 years now I have been improving, with setbacks now and then as happen to us PTSD folks, but holding a good job. The tips I have gotten here from things like the Peter Walker website have made that possible, as well as just having priceless peer support every day.
Glad you spoke up, and welcome to sharing as you feel comfortable. You're not alone, and you're needed among us.
You're certainly not alone. Much can be learned here. It's been paramount for me. Being part of this group initiated support, education, coping techniques, and awesome friendships.
Feel free to share, or not, as is comfortable.
Again, welcome.
Glad you are here. I joined about a month ago. At first I was skeptical but now I check in at least once a day. I find myself thinking about people who posted throughout the day. Today I will think of you!
Welcome.
