In my "Sounds of Lonesome" post, one of our members pointed out how PTSD is a lonely condition to begin with, which makes loneliness in the here and now is an especially potent trigger.
Been wondering since if it is even bigger than a trigger. A trigger is little more than a reminder of what we have repressed, stirring up memories we wish didn't exist. Is loneliness closer to a stirring ladle inserted directly into the PTSD Cauldron, agitating the entire soupy, goopy mess, past, present and future?
Looking for words for ^it^ and/or a reality check which will help me move on to more productive meditations.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I have been alone most of my life and I know is not healthy. But I am very triggered by people. Then again I do not know really mentally healthy people in my real life. Only here people seem to be aware and more honest or genuine.
Still, my more dramatic psychotic breaks have supplied considerable evidence that isolating is unhealthy in the extreme. The difference between being alone and being lonely has grown to be an item on my daily inventory.
I do think the aloneness at times can hurt me.... the whirling mind thing going on
At those times even getting out for a walk and being 'in' the world helps some.... along with a prn at times...sigh
Big squishy hug.....xo
the ptsd aloneness is painful though. i hear you. i feel that pain-echo here and that hurts too. (((hugs))) it seems it doesn't matter if we are surrounded by people, we still feel very alone with this.
there is something different about it, that way that the feeling has changed to cut off from instead of stepped away from. it seems more of a cannot connext instead of don't want to connect. for me. that is how i am feeling today about it.
Gentlest of hugs to you <3
I went from totally isolating myself, to bonding with my wife and then hiding behind her in most social settings, so now I am isolating again.
I think it's the trust issue that leads to the loneliness of this disorder.
there is a huge difference though between being alone and being lonely. I am lonely sitting in a room at every social function filled to the brim with people, but I am not often lonely when I am alone.
at least that is me~
