Success scares me allot more than failure. I was born into child sex trafficking. I understand losing allot better than I understand the pressures of success. Setting up the office, graphics station and grow/distillation room has been going smoothly enough that I find myself looking over my shoulder for "The Other Foot to Fall." Surely some disaster is brewing to bring down my house of cards.
Just breathe? Am I making sense? Reality checks welcome.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Yeah, I say just breath. And prepare for things not going well too, so that a blown fuse doesn't bring the whole house of cards down. Having extra fuses on hand never hurt anyone.
Hurray for you! I understand why you are worried, but I hope you also have some space to enjoy your success.
Did the 5 hour drive from northwest Texas to southeast Texas today after tying up loose ends to prepare for the incoming. Two small moving truck loads on this round. One to the job site I just came from and one to the urban homestead a three hour drive northwest. I be one tired grammy. Time for dinner, bath and bed. Night night.
Yeah, I didn't grow up into child sex trafficking, I grew up getting punished by a mentally ill dad whenever he thought I showed him up. He beat me bloody with his fists when I came home in high school happy that I'd been picked for the lead in a school play.
It's gross, but I'll describe it what it was like for clarity's sake. When he went after me that day as soon as I walked in the living room, I ran to my bedroom and locked the door. But he kicked it down. Since he had put bars on my bedroom window, there was no way out. So he literally bounced my body off the walls of my room with his fists. He broke my nose, but I wasn't allowed to go to the emergency room. My blood splatter on the walls stayed there for years.
It wasn't the first time, and it wouldn't be the last.
So as an adult, success scared me because it might draw the attention of an abuser. I sabotaged a big scholarship once. Now I try to sabotage abuse, learn from failure, and share my success with healthy people who care. Like you. Good like traversing Texas, my friend.
