hubs and i are in yet another round of tit for tat skirmishes. no big surprise. back to school for the 3 orphans. end of project blues the waaaaay behind schedule repurposing of the old farmhouse. geriatric challenges for us. etcetera, etceteri. life do get messy and spouses are ever so convenient as targets for the cumulative stresses of life.
the piece of that i am risking the sin of pride for is the progress hubs and i have made in fielding our tit for tat skirmishes. it feels almost as civilized as the varsity football skirmishes all three orphans want to attend at the high school tonight. maybe. my ex-varsity hub-a-lub is still a bit offended by the analogy, but? ? ? he has started using the analogy, himself in managing our current round of soon-to-be-ex waltzing.
more and more, i feel like suspending judgement (detachment?) is the most critical piece of this progress. "i'm a such-a-much? let us detach a bit and look a little closer at that alleged fact." important and less offensive facts often live beneath the name-calling and blame-gaming.
i'm not sure what i am reaching for here, or even if i am making sense.
general gee
tit for tat is a generic term for shared action/reaction. handshakes and competitive sports are forms if tit for tat. i hold that the domestic sport of volleying one another's hearts and dreams through the frustrations of life is not all that different from sport of chasing an odd-shaped piece of leather up and down a well-defined playing field.
thoughts, experience and opinions welcome. unsolicited relationship advice tolerated.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Another hug of peace and calm sent.... xo
it is a challenge, indeed, but so is healing from child sex trafficking. i feel like working through the domestic tit for tat might be the most healing medicine i have tried. working through them with the love of my life has gone a long way toward working through the tit for tat skirmishes in my head.
I really commend you for your self-awareness such that you can step back and detach rather than charge at the other person for a take down. Thanks for sharing the process so I can trust it more, too, seeing how it's working for you.
